Whoa…did you see this?! I watched that wedding of Bianca and Reese, and I have to say that it was a pretty great start for network television…you know, putting us lesbians front and center. It wasn’t perfect, but hey, it’s progress.

I’m not a big soap fan, but I might reconsider with some more representation…and the signs are surprisingly looking good for All My Children. That soap had one of the first lesbian weddings, and it was cool of the network to go for it.

The dresses were killer, the women seemed genuine in their affection toward each other, the network took a lot of heat for it, and it exposed thousands to what we already know.

A quote from Shewired says it best:

A big congratulations is in order to ALL MY CHILDREN for doing its best within the confines of soap opera etiquette to stick with a real girl-on-girl love story with a happy ending.”
