Usually this blog is fun and sexy…but this is serious, and I urge you to pass it on. The above picture is a bird from a Russian incident that died from being covered in sludge, many die or are blinded.
There is nothing sexy about an oil spill that will harm wildlife and coastlines for decades. There is also nothing sexy about coastal residents being exposed to toxins, poor water, air contaminants that may cause problems for many years to come. I urge you to Boycott BP. How? It’s very very simple. When you need to get gas for your car…go to the other gas station.
There are solutions. The Saudi’s for example, cleaned up a massive spill with tankers that sucked the oil in, separated the oil from water, and moved along. We did not find that “appropriate” for some reason in the Gulf. We need to put people over profit and this sucks.
If you are frustrated that no one is seeming to do anything, just stop buying it….from BP.

It’s a sad day when collectively as a country we probably spend more on plastic surgery than we will on this oil spill.
Thats because nobody seems to care about this including newsmedia, politicans and Obama himself! I just don’t get it! America has become a spoiled, whiny, how do I look, how much do I weigh, how much do I have, I, I, I, me me me society. Basically..the opinion of most seems to be if it doesn’t effect me I don’t care about it. And that INCLUDES the politicans and no action Obama also. I believe that until this disaster begins to affect the seafood chain and other foodchains, the economy, and the lives of more everyday people than just the fishermen..nobody is going to give a rip about it.
I continue to be astounded that we could allow regulatory oversight in offshore drilling to be so pandering, so superficial, so in-bed-with-the-oil-companies that we don’t even have standards in place on how to STOP a leak when one starts.
Which I am sure happens far, far more often around than world than we hear about on MSNBC.
My thoughts go out to the volunteers, the engineers trying to figure out this fix a little too late, and the commercial divers/ submersible vehicle operators that have to actually go down in this mess. God knows what kinds of horrible diseases will wrack their bodies futurely from this level of exposure.
I work for BP in a different division and I have to say that a proposed boycott stands to hurt a company who has been one of the most LGBT supportive major corporations in the world. If you boycott them, you boycott your LGBT sisters and brothers employed by them. What the media is not telling you is that there were only 6 BP employees on that rig at the time of the accident and no one seems to think Halliburton and Transocean who WERE in charge of the driller should take the bulk of the responsibility. If the allegations of BP ignoring safety concerns were true, then surely those two companies could have bucked BP and refused to drill until those measures were in place. Don’t believe everything you see in the media. The reason Obama wants to throw BP under the bus is because he has close ties to Transocean personally. BP is taking responsibility because they own the well. These things are not that simple.
