Warm your lesbian belly with Campbell’s Soup.

by Jul on January 5, 2009 · 8 comments

The AFA (American Family Association) says that the Campbell Soup Company has “embraced the homosexual agenda” by taking out a two-page ad in “the Advocate,” advertising their line of Swanson Broth. I know…very scandalous that broth. But they are encouraging their members to protest Campbell’s Soup and to write in to the President of the company.

Here is the ad:

Here is the quote from the AFA website:

Campbell Soup Company has openly begun helping homosexual activists push their agenda. Not only did the ads cost Campbell’s a chunk of money, but they also sent a message that homosexual parents constitute a family and are worthy of support. They also gave their approval to the entire homosexual agenda.”

Campbell’s, awesomely enough, is ignoring their boycott and released the following statement:

“Our position on this is pretty straightforward,” said company rep Anthony Sanzio. “Inclusion and diversity play an important role in our business, and that fact is reflected in our marketing plan. For more than a century, people from all walks for life have enjoyed Campbell’s products, and we will continue to try to communicate in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them.”

Much praise to Campbell’s….so, I encourage you to buy a can/cup of soup or broth today…however…if you want to go “above and beyond” and actually thank Campbells for taking a stand, you can contact company president Douglas R. Conant at Campbell Soup Co, Campbell Place, Camden, NJ 08103, (800) 442-7684 or (800) 257-8443, douglas_r_conant@campbellsoup.com.

I would never have thought of Campbells as a brand that were pushing the boundary or being controversial in any way! Fair play to them…I will definitely pick up some Campbells in preference to any other soup brand next time I’ve got a jones for some broth!

My great love for Cambell’s Bean with Bacon (I know they must make it just for me — I don’t know anyone else who will touch it) is now officially validated.

If nothing else, the AFA helps point me to brands/companies that I *should* support. Basically, anyone that they’re boycotting, I’m buying!
