You may not be a fan of President Raul Castro, but his daughter Mariela Castro is one amazing woman. She’s been an advocate of sexual minorities for quite some time now…and has been a staunch advocate for the government providing transgender sexual reassignment surgery, the rights of gays/lesbians, and bisexuals. Considered a family rebel, she’s the director of the Cuban National Center for Sex Education, and instrumental in bringing many laws and protections to the table. The AP recently reported ” Now Cuba’s parliament is studying proposals to legalize same-sex unions.” 
Lay off girls, she’s married (and straight).
