Helen Mirren is famous for playing “The Queen” and other noble roles, but it seems they couldn’t be further from the truth. Yeah, she looks decent in a bikini in her 60s, but if we think with our brains and not our girlparts, there is something very icky to report.
Time.com reported that Helen Mirren recently made some remarks about women who are the victim of date-rape, and “suggested that women who are date-raped should not expect their attackers to be charged.”
She also said some things about loving to snort cocaine in her youth (only at parties), and how she was date-raped before – twice. So, you’d think the woman would have a little perspective.
Guess not.

It seems like a perfect example of how rape survivors are conditioned to believe that they were *not* victims of an actual crime, and most often blame themselves…
Even if you’re halfway through, Helen, if you want to stop and he doesn’t, it’s rape. (in Canada, where I live, the law is VERY clear about this).
And I saw her bikini photos; she was the hotness!
I totally agree with Lisa on this. She’s a great example of people shouldering the blame for a crime that they have been led to believe is their fault.
It is kind of sad that she believes this, but not an opinion that helps out other women at all.
