Mary Louise-Parker wanted to be more gay.

If you’ve ever seen “Fried Green Tomatoes,” and didn’t read the book, you just knew that there was something going on between the leading women….didn’t you? Well, it is reported on Actress Archives.com that Mary Louise-Parker recently stated that the book was very clear about the same-sex relationship between the women, and that she wanted the film to be more true to the original story.

She was able to get almost everyone on board with the idea of portraying a lesbian relationship between the women…well, except for the filmmaker Jon Avnet and others who didn’t want the film heading in that direction…it was 1991.

Cheers to Mary Louise-Parker for speaking her mind, and attempting to do the right thing…which is, of course, getting it on with a woman…on film.

Funny isn’t it. MLP has been in several LGBT films and yet she is still respected as a woman, actress, heterosexual. And I don’t think she’s type casted for taking lesbian rolls. See: WEEDS (Love the show albiet not loving this season so much)

I kind of look at her as a roll model for LGBT actors. If they were to come out of the closet they could still get good rolls. This comment could be an entire frickin’ thesis, but I didn’t like college much, and don’t have the time.

I can only hope you get my point.
