I loved the movie “Precious.” It was incredible, powerful and I would recommend you see it. Monique was especially amazing in the film. As the character “Mary,” she was brutal, cruel and just transformed into the most abusive despicable person you could even imagine.
Saying this, I saw a sight almost equally heinous: Monique’s unshaven legs. Now, I know that a lot of people think it is “oppressive” for women to shave…but I write this blog, and I like them slick, clean and without much hair (remind you of anything?). So, when I saw these at the Golden Globes, I was horrified.

Gasp! A woman with hair on her legs. The horror…the horror…the fuck out of here with that. People complain all the time that society and the media have given people a false image of the human body yet when they are confronted with reality, they cling to that bullshit interpretation of what is and should be done by a woman to her own body. It really doesn’t matter what your preference is as I’m sure you have no chance whatsoever of coming in contact with Monique or her “horrifying” legs.

Nicole –
You and I have a deal. You can take the chicks with the hairy legs, and I’ll get the smooth ones. No prob.

Yeah I tend to agree and it’s hypocritical of me cause as a woman who has gone 5 weeks without shaving, I love the smooth curves of a woman’s legs. In saying that, I put off shaving cause no one is seeing my legs but me. If I think there’s even a chance I may get lucky or if I was in the public media my legs would stay shaven.

So men can go unshaven scruffy and long bearded and you would have nothing to say about that? Let’s put this situation in office setting. Harry legged woman wearing knee lenghth skirt vs Man with 3 week old beard. And I do see your point I just think your opinion is a little too extreme, things aren’t so black and white men and women are equal now and unfornately women are many times the ones to put their own sisters down.

I don’t date men….so, I wouldn’t have a lot to say about it. I have preferences just like I’m sure you do…and if you want to date a chick with hairy legs – hey, I’m all for it…they are all yours.
