Brave, and true.
Maybe it’s because we are so used to being excluded, or beaten down, or downright rejected…that we think this is okay? If we are looking at anti-gays as “inclusion,” this sends a terrible message. An anti-gay bigot should be just as unacceptable as a racist one giving the invocation. While we would never tolerate a “white supremecist,” somehow a person who compares gays to pedophiles is considered a compromising position.
What’s more interesting, is that while many blogs ran very Pro-Obama campaigns…where is the critique? the outrage? Joe My God has been showing clips of the video above, and has had some great points. I hope more are not afraid to demand respect from the very person they helped to elect.

TOTALLY AGREE. Myopic and disturbing.
Jul, thanks so much for posting this– I’d read that she came out (hardyharhar) in opposition to Obama’s choice of Warren, but was achin’ for the clip. I think, personally, in response to your question of “where is the outrage?” it’s just… hard (?) to see someone whom you’ve fought for turn his back on you, in this area we prior Obamaniacs liked to overlook (shame on us). It’s hard to let go, and I love Obama on everything but this. But when you let your religious views cloud your view of what’s justice for all, that’s problematic. As one of the Graces said at Grace the Spot: “don’t go Barack-in my heart!”
[also, that was quite a long comment, oops! once you get me started...]
