soccer

If you haven’t heard of Marta Vieira da Silva, it’s because she’s like every other superstar in women’s sports…no one pays attention…but this woman is a legend. She’s known as the best in women’s soccer EVER to play the game, and has a story that makes you love her.

According to reports, she played with the boys as a child, despite taking physical beatings for it, her family wanting her to stop, and being so poor that she didn’t have proper shoes, she kept going – she loved the game. Now, she’s undisputedly the best.

While she still makes a fraction of what the male superstars make (her agent represents Ronaldo), she’s the best in her game. See her play for the New York Flash if you’re interested in watching a hero live….and watching that perfect smile. She wickedly competitive, but isn’t that just the coolest?

Here’s a little taste of what she can do:

She’s the American Team Goalie, and 5 ft 9 inches of total awesomeness (see bikini shot below).  Yes ladies, drool now.

Kai wins Gold…

Winning Gold, the American soccer chicks (and Natasha Kai) score…both on and off the field, it seems.

A slip of the tongue outed Natasha Kai. She was speaking to NBC Olympics.com when she stated that in her early career on the soccer team that she was having a hard time, “I had missed the first camp [under Sundhage] in early-January because I had bronchitis, and I was going through a nasty break-up with my girlfriend. Then [Coach Sundhage] told me my job was on the line.”

Girlfriend? Yes…our ears were perked.

She’s got 19 tattoos, her coach now describes her as “on fire,” and we couldn’t agree more. Watch the Olympics for the tattoos on her thighs…I’d describe them for you, but I think they’re better live.
