According to the Boston Herald, New York City has recently changed its policies so that children born to lesbian couples will have both couples names listed on the birth certificate at the time of birth. This is a wonderful step forward.

Funny…in a nerdy way.

Do you ever see those advertisements from Google that land at the bottom of pages you read? Well, it seems someone is selling Obama.

No, not “obama merchandise,” but the man himself.

Check it out for yourself!

buy obama on ppc from nextag

Here is the original page it is from. It’s obviously an advertising mistake. Maybe I can sell myself on Pay-per-click advertising?

Tattoos: Your thoughts?

by Jul on March 11, 2009 · 6 comments

With Tattoos, everyone has their preferences. To you are they sexy, only sexy “to a point,” a turn-on, weird? Is there a line for you between too many or too freaky a design?

Ever want to make it with a Mermaid?

by Jul on February 27, 2009 · 6 comments

Like any self-respecting lesbian, my gf and I take regular trips out to Provincetown. We often go out in the water in our raft, go whale watching, but this….THIS is the ultimate. While I assure you that trying to have sex in a raft is a precarious situation, a woman from New Zealand has just blown my mind.

Nadya Vessey suffered from a condition at birth that required amputation of both of her legs….so according to the Daily Mail:

” two years ago, she wrote to Oscar-winning special effects company Weta Workshop in Wellington, New Zealand, to ask them to make her a tail. She never believed they actually would. But for the people behind the special effects in blockbuster hits like ‘Lord of the Rings’, ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’, and ‘King Kong’, the task was a piece of cake. Now the astounded – and delighted – Nadya has a fully-functioning tail. “

I have to tell you…I really don’t understand why someone would want to become a Mermaid…but now that they have, I’m kind of curious.

I have no issue at all with disabled chicks…they can be incredibly hot. However, would you date a chick who had a mermaid tail? Is it different?

We joke around a lot on this site. Admittedly, that’s what it’s about. However, sometimes you have to take the time to recognize that being a blogger in the lesbian world isn’t all about haha’s….sometimes it’s about giving back. When we stumbled upon one of our reader’s blogs, we wanted to help, and so we’re doing a post (with permission, of course).

I’ve been keeping track of her blog for a long time. Mainly because it is differently from my experience. Jess describes herself as genderqueer. She doesn’t want to become a guy, but she does want to align her body more to what she feels inside, so she’s raising money for top surgery.

If you’re a lesbian, you’ve likely known what it feels like to not be truly comfortable in a situation. Jess has been feeling that for quite some time about issues we likely take for granted. I’ve been very lucky to have known since I was a kid that I was a girl…I liked being a girl…and heck, now I like being a girl into other girls. Being genderqueer is more neutral, and people don’t really know where to place individuals.

She’s got a great wife at home, kids and pets from what I understand..and they are just looking for some help to get this surgery done, and get it paid for. I’ll likely never truly understand the discomfort Jess feels in her own body, but I can be part of the solution. No matter who you are, or what your situation in life, Grrlplanet supports you. Join the cause.

I know you say you love your wife. But rather than spending millions of dollars on companies that are doing crappy business, let me throw you a suggestion. Pay off the student loans of the young folks out there, and let this be your “stimulus package”:

I’m not saying she has to take off her clothes, or anything like that. Just dress her up, and give us all a glamour shot (preferably with some skin) every now and again. Maybe weekly, to my inbox.

Secondly, Remember that there are a lot of gay and lesbian people who supported you. Many who don’t like that you’ve seemingly thrown many “under the bus” when you got that bigot, Rick Warren, to open your inauguration. And, appointing that gay bishop to speak on Sunday, doesn’t make it any better. He wasn’t even included in the HBO broadcast (according to 365gay.com, the Presidential Inauguration Committee apologizes for the “error,” it seems not to be the fault of HBO). No one even heard him but those that were gathered, but either way, that’s not the big event, and you know it.

So, when you think about how historic this day is, and the hopes of Martin Luther King Jr. that all men should be judged not on the color of their skin, but the content of their character…remember as this man stated on his sign:
